Unlucky Day

17May Friday while i was rushing my work, someone from next door came into my office and shout "WGA 26" whose car ? Shock,what happened to may car ? My car mirror was broken. I quickly check if my CD player is there? hey .... nothing was stolen. Infact i did not put anything in my car. The uncle next door told me not only my car kena, there were another car kena side mirror. Poor me!! this cost me RM$320 to change a new one although i could claim insurance.
This month very 倒楣.

Car's mirrow was broken without any reason.

I drove at speed 20-30 from my office Cheras back home, took me 40 minutes to reach home, usually take me 15-20 minutes. I drove at left lane, put on double signal, these impatient driver hon me. Hey!! come on i was not purposely drivng slow, didn't they see my mirror was broken? why should they follow me so close until not able to cut me. ? Why so impatient ?

After sending my car to workshop at Subang Indah PJS 11 (near Sunway College). I stop a taxi to send me to Summit Square, do you guy know how much the taxi driver charge me ? "Sepuluh Ringgit lah ... Ah Moi" Wah!! RM$10 for a short distance ... NO WAY!!! Can't remember how many taxi i stopped until i met a kind Pacik to send me there by meter, only cost me RM$3.20 and i pay the Pacik RM$5.

Story not ending yet ... After i finished i need a taxi to go home. Again, the taxi driver charge me RM$30 from Summit Square to Sri Petaling. "What the hell" all these driver ? (sorry!! i really very angry) . Finally, it cost me RM$14.00 back home with free "Immuse system" lesson (hahah..) the taxi drive is doing diret selling.

Not yet finish ... I called taxi to send me to workshop collect my car. Again, this lady very rude and impolite, ask me in Cantonese "地址，去那里，电话" then put down the phone. I was shock and not sure if there's any taxi or not.

What an unlucky day form me !!??!!

Till this moment, we have not decided where to settle down after married.
May be Bangkok, may be KL, and may be Singapore…
If we still can’t decide by Oct, to come back KL for good after married, we will not spend the money and effort to do up our house. Will use his parents’ house as our 新房。

I feel honored to have friends of more than 20 years to spend my 34th birthday night with me, though there was no cake (whose fault? ), no candle-blowing and no ‘real celebration’, it is surely one of the most memorable birthdays I have ever spent in these few years. I believe not only me, but all that have come would have enjoyed the night, talking about our histories again. It was really fun to recall some of those very silly things that we did when we were small.

But to my surprise, some of the ‘very sensitive issues’ were being brought out too! Hope no one would feel being offended, after all, it was all ‘past tense’ and it was just meant for fun! Didn’t we enjoy being talked, and also talking about other people?

Though age is catching up (mid thirties oledi leh), don’t worry, I should remember this night for many more years to come, because….as least I have the Heineken Designer Glass! (the only birthday present received so far , only if this is considered one :p)

Anyway, thanks again friends, for giving me this fond memory, and hope our 友谊万岁！Cheers!

Earthquake at Sumatra, tremor felt in Singapore!

At about 11.50am, 6 Mar, I felt my chair being shaken, I tot someone was playing a fool with me, I looked at my right, saw no one, then I turned to my left again, still no one at sight. I felt giddy.....it must be the sleepless night I had last nite that caused this scenario. Suddenly,my colleague besides me shouted 'Earthquake!', then everybody started to realise it, and simultaneously nodded that...yes, earthquake! But majority was still carried on with the work, only 2 of them ran down stair from level 5 (our office) for safety.

After a while, everybody was laughing and expressing how they felt about the tremor. As it was the first experience for many people, feeling how the earthquake is. Phone started ringing and we got to realise some of the companies actually evacuated their staff from the building, espcially those highrise building in the financial district. But, still no annoucement from our building management.

At about 12.15pm, we were asked to leave the building for early lunch.

We got back to work at about 1.30pm after lunch, by then, we got to realise that it was an earthquake that had occured in Sumatra which measured up to magnitude 6.6. While we were still talking about how it felt....we felt another wave of the tremor at about 1.52pm, this time, everybody jumped up almost simultaneously from the chair and shouted 'again!' ....but, just after a while, all got back to work again as there is no annoucement from the building management for evacuation!

After all, all of us still lack of 危机感. Imagine, what happen if the building really collapse due to the quake?!

I went back to KL for the Christmas holidays, and of course visited some friends in KL.

A friend that I met, told me that she had met up with some really bad incidence last month. Her house was broken in twice in 3 days. She stayed in a single storey link house with her boy friend. The thieves had broken in from the roof. When they first released that the house was broken in, they had made a police report, and the police did come and took some photos and collected some fingerprints. Nothing much had been stolen. But this was not the end, the thieve were so daring that they came for the 2nd time the day after. Even though police report had been made, this didn’t scare the thieves away! And my friend was actually in the house for the 2nd time. When she heard some noises from the ceiling when taking her bath after returning home from work, she rushed out from the bathroom and shout for help. The thieves escaped though her boy friend and some of the neighbors did rush there to help.

After this second occurrence, my friends had decided to check the roof to see if anything they could do to stop this from happening again. This had then revealed another thing that really made my friend traumatized. When her boy friend climbed up to the roof, he realized that there were a few stools on the ceiling. For those who stay in link house, you would know that there is some space in between the roof and ceiling for ventilation purpose and people can actually move around in this space. The bastards were not there at my friend’s house for stealing only, what worse was, they had some other objectives. They had actually drilled some little holes in between the ceiling boards on top of my friend’s bed room and bath rooms. Can you imagine? They were there to peep my friend through the holes. What made my friend crazy was, these bastards even brought stools up there, just like watching some shows! And they had left some empty bottles of gum too, thus, showed that there bastards were sucking gum there, getting themselves high and excited!

No doubt, it was too careless of my friend to not realize the holes on the ceiling earlier, but, who could have imagine that their own house is still not the safest place? We had heard of those hidden pin hole camera in some indecent hotels, public toilets or fitting rooms, but could you imagined, you could be watched too in your own house?

My friend had then fixed up the alarm system, sealed up the roof, installed more spotlights around the house, and what ever not to make the house ‘safer’. But, this couldn’t chase away her nightmare and fear, till not, she does not dare to go back to stay in the house. She still has the feeling that she is being watched whenever she is in the house. I do not know how long it would take for her to get rid of the fear, poor girl.

It is fortunate that my friend is not hurt in this incidence. But don’t you think our society is sick!? Everyday, we hear about snatch thief, robbery, murdering, rape case….is this place safe for us? What can we do to ensure our safety?

Anyway, don’t want to spoil you mood for the new year celebration. Wishing you & your family happy and prosperous year 2007!

What's up?
All our gladiators have been very quiet recently...nothing interesting to share, or life is just too busy to blog?
I have been busy too recently.
After coming back from my Yunnan holidays, there were basically no time to rest.
Even the week ends were occupied.
And, despite being sick, I still have to travel to Manila last week for some customer visits.

Yeah, finally, I am back to action (to blog).
Well, I was thinking to share my experience of the Yunnan tour with you guys, but, most of the feelings, excitement have cooled down since I hv already back for so long.

Welcome Aidan Kow!

Yo all!

I'm a second time father today - Aidan Kow, looks like Brad Pitt, just like the father. Aidan can't wait to get out by 11:01am today, which is about 1 week earlier than the scheduled 16th Oct.

Why Aidan? Well, is one character from a Barbie Movie, a Prince Charming, of course. My daughter just insisted on that name (he will freak out later if he knows that I name him after a character in Barbie movie..). Well, not my fault, blame his sister.....

Still struggling to think of Aidan's Chinese name. Well.... with a weird surname like mine, is kind of difficult to find a name that rhymes... "Kow Wong Choy", "Kow Ah Kow", "Kow Fatt Tat", "Kow Tai Fok", "Kow Tak Wah"..... Difficult!

Any suggestion is welcome.

Remember that I went for cycling at the East Coast Park on of the weekends, trying to catch some bikini girls for you guys? Well, no luck for pretty ladies, but, this sand castle. Quite nice, though not as interesting as those captured by Kow in SH. Just want to share with you guys.

In my memory, besides during my first year in college where I stayed in student house, this is the first time I'm spending the mid autumn festival alone, away from home, without home-cooked food! 1st October - Golden Week Holiday

In China, there are only 3 holiday seasons - Chinese New Year (End Jan or Feb), Labour Day (May 1st) and The National Day (Oct 1st).

That's all.. For some weird reasons, some wise guys from the government think that having all holidays lumping togather is a brilliant idea... Thus, 7 years ago, they implemented this Golden Week holiday for the whole nation.

That's it, no more holidays in between. After this week, I will have to wait till next Feb for the CNY.

Of course, there are good and bad things about this kind of arrangement.

Imagine, would you rather have the public holidays scattered accross the year or would you like it to group it within the same week?

For me, I would rather have the holidays spreaded out.

Because is a Golden week, the whole nation is in boogie mood. There are huge amount of people going around touring. In China, when I say huge amount of people - meaning is HUGE amount of people! Every where you see is just heads and more heads! Worst still, if the uncle from donno what village besides you want to spit, you have no where to run away!

A walk along the famous Nan Jing Walking Street says it all.....

Kukup Laut may sounds new to many Malaysian, especially those stay in central or northern peninsular Malaysia, just like myself. But, it is definitely not new to many Singaporeans. It is quite a popular place for Singaporeans to stay for a weekend there, doing nothing much, but for gathering, relaxing and eating.

It was being organized and sponsored by our Product Marketing Department heads (2 Deputy Directors) for a 2D1N trip to Kukup Luat on 9 & 10 Sept.

We departed from our office on Sat morning, about 9am and reached Kukup for a seafood lunch.

Kukup is a fishing village.

After the lunch, we checked in to the “holiday resort”.
However, the place seemed to me more a house than a holiday resort.

This is the ‘resort’ that we have rented, it has 5 bed rooms with air cond and 3 bath rooms, with water heater. Quite comfortable and spacious. As you can see, it is floating on the water. As it is built with concrete, I guess, PL is OK with it, as you won’t feel that it’s actually floating.

This is the path we took to walk from main road to our ‘resort’. A narrow walk way, with houses both sides. All are floating on the water during high tide.

The back yard, quite spacious, where we can have a few mahjong tables & do BBQ at nite.

During low tide, we can see the trees, the ‘tiang’ of the kelong, and the ships are ‘parked’ on the sea bed. It is quite interesting to watch the water to flow in so quickly during high tide.

As mentioned, nothing much we could do in Kukup besises indoor activities. So, thanks to 2 of the colleagues, that had arranged some games for everybody. The games were very ‘childish’, but everybody enjoyed it very much. It was really a good one to blend everybody together.

The resort was also equipped with Karaoke and DVD player. But the majority were more interested in playing mahjong and 荷兰牌. I hope my colleagues would not mind me putting up their photos here (I purposely make the photo smaller in size, so that you can't really see their face, can you?)...Or, if I get any ‘objection’ from them, then only I take it out loh! Anyway, none of them know about this Blog, guess, they will never discover…heeheeee

There is another exciting event, that is playing firecracker and fireworks! There was a stall selling all stuff of 非卖品。My colleagues from Singapore are all stunned with these firecrackers not to mention the fireworks sold there. Finally, they all spent a few hundreds buying all kinds of firecrackers and all were so enjoyed playing with it.

The next day, we went for 游船河。We were brought to see some of the fishing kelong.

After it, we went for another seafood lunch and then left Kukup for Singapore.

It was quite a fun & relaxing week end spent with colleagues that were normally fighting and struggling together during working hours. It not only helped us to foster better relationship, and understand each other better. Try it out with your colleagues too!

Something else...

Well, they could hv done too much BBQ and caused fire! See the photos below. We were told that 5 kelongs were burnt down. The fire was too fierce to be put off and the villages were being evacuated from the kelong near to the fire scene.

Loosing a hand phone?!

I went to JB with my colleagues yesterday. For what? Just like most of the Singaporeans, to shop (to buy DVD/VCD as primary objective) and to makan.

It was quite jam at the custom and we took about 2 hours to reach JB from Singapore.
It was raining quite heavily by the time we reached. We went to our friend’s house first, who is our ex-colleague and still working in Singapore but travel to-and-fro between Sg & JB to work every day. When the rain subsided, we went to Sentosa to eat Bak Kut Teh. It was really nice to have hot Bak Kut Teh during rainy day, yummy! The Bak Kut Teh was really not bad, no wonder my colleagues said it’s a must for them to eat there every time they come to JB.

After that, the friend suggested us to go to the new shopping mall in Johor, at Tebrau. I couldn’t remember the name of the mall, but we were told it has the biggest Jusco in Malaysia. Ya, it was quite huge! And, it has some similar style as KLCC, with all the branded outlets like Esprit, Topman, MNG, etc.

It was too bad that one of our colleagues had to rush back to Singapore not long after we reached there, as his mother was hospitalized. He left alone by taxi back to Singapore. I was on the phone with him for a while before I walked into a shop where my other lady colleague was.

She was trying a pair of shoes and I was just looking around. Suddenly, I realized that my h/p was not with me, I searched through my bag, and couldn’t find it. I became panic, and my colleague started calling my number. It rang…but no one picked it up! I was so miserable and I knew that I had lost my h/p. However, I still made an effort to look around briefly and walked back to the way that I took before coming in to the shop where I realized I lost my h/p, hoping that I could find it along the way…but, didn’t find it.
I tried to calm down and figure out that I couldn’t have left it any other place besides that shop, as I could remember quite clearly that I finished the call with the colleague that left before stepping in to the shop. So, I asked the Sales Assistances, if they happened to see it. All of them, gave the same remarks, i.e. there’s no way to get your phone back if you have drop it, as it would be taken in no time!

With disappointment, I still looked around in the shop, I bended down to look under the counter and the stool where I ever sat down, and looked at each customer’s face, at the same time, my colleague continued calling my number. Out of my expectation, the security guide of the shop handed me the phone when I was approaching his direction. He told me that he found it on the floor…I was so happy that I could find it, it was almost miracle! I thanked him with full of relief and then left the shop.

I felt so lucky that I could recover my phone, but, seriously, I had doubt in the security guild’s integrity. I believed he had intention to keep the phone if I didn’t continue looking for it in the shop, and if the phone didn’t keep ringing….but in fact, the ringing tone was too soft for us to hear it from a distance. He could be observing me looking for the phone from the beginning, and hoped that I would give up. At the moment I walked towards him, he was afraid that I would hear the ringing (I think he has no time to turn off the phone yet) and initiated to hand the phone to me, pretending that he found it on the floor.

Anyway, anyhow, I couldn’t be sure of it, and may be, I shouldn’t think that way! Even if I was sure, I won’t say anything, as I was happy enough that I could find it and considered myself very lucky!

Side story...

Fortunately, I didn’t have porno photo/ video stored in my phone, else, I will be worried to dead! You know la, nowadays, youngsters in Singapore like to do that. Not sure if it was reported in Malaysia, a few mths ago, a student recorded her sexual activity with her boyfriend, and when she lost her phone, the video clip was being circulated in the whole Singapore island. And a few days ago, another case about a college female student, having sex with 3 others guys (4P as written in the newspaper) in a toilet for disabled, and the whole process was being recorded by another person using hand phone, believed to be their own friend. And the phone somehow was lost and again, the video clip was being sent and circulated! But don’t ask from me! I didn’t get the clip of course! It was described quite clearly in one of the Chinese newspapers that, the scene was quite daring! Sign…what has gone wrong with the young generation? A girl having sex with a few guys at one time, at a public place is already a crazy thing to do, and yet, they still have the chick to record it! There are people now discussing whether is it a legal offence to have done this kind of thing if being caught, and whether the authority can use this kind of video clip as an evidence to charge the offender. What do you think?

Bangkok…Re-discovery!

Bangkok is always known as food & shopping paradise. For the past few years, I hv been going to Bangkok quite regularly. Shopping is always in the MUST DO LIST every trip that I go (regardless it is biz or personal trip), but, it was never the same when I shopped with 2 other shopping queens the last trip when I went in Bangkok.

I was in Bangkok to attend a Sales Conference (30 Aug – 1 Sep), with 2 men and 1 lady colleagues. We decided to extend stay over the weekend after the conference. My sis & her family (hubby and a 11 mths old baby) flew in to join us after work on Friday.

We went to the new shopping mall in Bangkok, Siam Paragon on Friday evening after the conference. But, our actual shopping marathon started on Saturday morning.
After breakfast on Sat, we started our ‘appetizer’ with the week end market, Chatujak.
For those who has never been to this place, make it a MUST the next time you visit Bangkok. You can basically get anything you want under the sky, provided that you can find it in this mass market.

It was getting hot, in fact very hot during noon time, thus, we left the place for lunch at about 1pm. After lunch, we continued shopping at Patrunam, a mall called “The Platinum Fashion Mall”. Patruman is known as a wholesale market. Most of the shops, stalls, and even shopping malls in Patrunam area are meant for wholesale. But, their definition for ‘wholesale’ is, as long as you buy 3 pcs (some require 6 pcs) of anything from their shop, it is considered as wholesale. The mall that we went, is quite a new one, and don’t be surprised by their window display/ presentation even it is a wholesale market. Basically, it has no difference from any other good shopping mall. And the wholesale price is about 60% of the retail price. E.g. you can buy 1pc a@ THB250 or 3pcs @ THB150/ea.

And, Patrunam is our ‘main course’. My sis and the lady colleague became so crazy with the price and the fashion they saw there (mostly clothing). They basically wanted to buy everything they see…..I was not that excited as it was not my first time there.

As the shops started to close at 6pm, we left the place, and proceed to MBK, another shopping heaven. Well, first thing to look for, of course were the lingerie. And, second thing, shoes! Well, we had quite a heavy ‘dessert’ in MBK. We shopped till they closed shop at about 9pm, how we hope that it operates 24 hours, not enough time for us!

So, the next thing was to fill our stomach, but, food became secondary for ladies when come to shopping. We went to Suan Lom Night Bazaar to have our dinner, and then, continued shopping there until almost 12 am! We didn’t buy much thing from Suan Lom, thus, I considered that as just a light ‘fruit plater’.
Can you imagine, our shopping marathon continued for more than 12 hours on that single day itself? My colleague confessed that she would never walk that much if it was not for shopping, and she believed that she could had walked the distance more than she would ever walked for half a year in Singapore!

The next day, Sunday, we made it a slow day, as we had set our target at the Patrunam, we realized that afterall, we could find most of the thing there at a very reasonable price. Thus, after taking our breakfast, we headed directly to the place and shopped till we left for airport!

Just to share some of our 战利品...
In summary, 3 of us bought at least 50 pcs of clothing (t-shirts, blouse, shorts, jeans, skirt…), most of them were below THB300 and 20 pairs of shoes at THB199/ea, THB250/ea and some TBH350/ea….! Not including others things like hair accessories and souvenior...Can you guys imagine that how much we had contributed to Thailand economy !?

I was walking to a nearby supermarket last night to buy some breads. As we are now moving into early autumn, the weather is quite cold. Last night was worse as it was raining pretty badly and was pretty cold at 19-21 degree.

Somewhere along the way, I saw this family of 5 was trying to catch a cab (they looked like someone from the middle east). Here in SH, rainny day is pretty difficult to catch a cab. I saw the mother was holding a baby, probably about 4-5 months old, running back and forth the street to catch the taxi, with the husband looking after another two older kids (probably 8-10 years old), he basically standing there doing nothing but watching the mother holding the baby running up and down....

The baby was soaking under the heavy rain in the mother's arm donno sleeping or fainted already. So I told myself, hey, are they without an umbrella? So I rushed up to the mother and offered my umbrella to her... Suddenly, I realized that the mother was holding an umbrella too herself, un-opened!

I was like thinking.... what the heck? Are you nuts? Why don't you use the freeking umbrella to cover your baby? Can't you tell that your baby is soaking under the bloody cold weather and rain? Is the baby breathing to begin with?

Worst still, they were in front of the supermarket, which means shelter was just right there for their kids. Was it really necessary to expose the baby under the chilling rain?

62 Pandora's Boxes!

Guess what are these boxes?

My stuff from my apartment in KL. I went back to KL in the end July to pack up my stuff to Shanghai. Since there are quite a lot to pack up, I engaged a professional relocation expert, Asian Tiger, to relocate for us.

They were amazing. I have never seen anyone move house in such a professional manner.

What I need to do was point my index finger to the things I need to relocate, and they will just packed it up for us. We do not really need to do anything.

Even my daughter's 37 Barbie Dolls - They wrapped it up one by one as though they are 100k gold bar.

As you can see from the pics above, they packed up our goods in 62 boxes. That exclude all the furnitures and electronic goods (TVs, beds, air-cord, fridge, microwave etc etc) as I wanted to rent out my apartment as a fully furnished apartment.

Finally after 28 days of waiting, our shipments arrived! I finally got my trademill back and I can now jog in the morning before I go to work!
My baby got her horse too so that she can practise horse riding before going to school every morning!
Of the 62 boxes, we left 12 back home and shipped 50 to Shanghai.

Of the 50 boxes, my daughter's toys alone were already 12 boxes! Can you imaging. Thus, once unload all the stuff, the whole living room was filled with her toys.

And by the way, the professional movers do unpack and arrange all the stuff for you. Amazing that their service was THAT impressive! They don't come cheap too - total cost - about RM15k.

My wife eventually tidy up the whole place and now it looks like this. The biggest disappointment is that I can't move my 1,000+ DVD titles to Shanghai. Well....... pirated stuff..... better not lar.... I gave it all to my sister.

As for my apartment in Bandar Sri Permaisuri?

We moved out on Wednesday, and on Thursday, we rented out our apartment for RM1,600/month, with contract runs for a year. Not bad huh. Getting a good property agent is very important!

The secrets of settling your credit card(s) bill(s)

I feel really good today. I finally settled one of the 3 credit cards I have been owing for more than 3 years.

One wise guy told me that credit card is a gift from hell. That...... is so true.

The same wise guy also said that if you have a scissor at hand, cut it off now.... (of course not, you need the card to pay your bill right? You need to slot that card into the machine to pay bill right [If not, go online banking] Well, isn't bank smart? Let you keep the card as long as you want?) Credit cards are addictive!

Nowadays in KL, you don't need to apply for a credit card anymore. The bank send it to you directly into your mail box which you never applied for one.

How many of you have C***bank mailed it to you directly which you never applied for? Well, I have! A Gold Card some more and I never applied for one!

Then out of a sudden.... the credit limit of the Visa Card mysteriously increased by 50%, and upgraded you to A GOLD CARD MEMBER, and you never asked for the increment and upgrade to begin with!

Stupid of me, I went and activated all of it, on top of the two bloody credit cards I already have in my wallet!

Not too sure about you, somehow, what I gathered, I realised that there are quite a number of people have the same story like I do (except my wife) - spending on future money and then pay up only the minimum 5%. In the end, they have a huge debts to settle off.

During the last two years, since I was on my own business with no stable income, I used up almost all of the credits that are available. Thus, accumulating quite a huge sum of debts - RM30,000 in total just on credit cards alone.

Then, I attended a seminar about financial planning. The wise guy told me that there IS a way to clear off your debts.

This is the idiot's guide to settle off your credit card debts - is very simple, but it works. At least it works for me.

If you have few credit cards' debts to pay off, focus on one card to pay off first.

When you are targeting THAT credit card to pay off, never use that card anymore under any circumstances. Pay only the minimum for the other cards, but pay extra for the targeted credit card - just one card! When you finish off with one card, it gives you the motivation (and don't you feel good!) to target the next card!

Simple word of wisdom, but damn useful for me. Now, I have finished off almost 30% of the remaining two cards....

Is a relief of not having to bear so much debts....

When Shit Hits The Fan!

Imagine what would happen if that really occurs man. Well, it happens.

Like that one....

You know lar, I was on my own before I came to Shanghai. I was handling this project with one Singaporean contact...

End Client: One company X lar.... (In Singapore)

The person who got the contract: Company Y lar...... (In Singapore)

Contract value: Not big lar, a couple of thousands only.

X wanted to get a report done, and Y got the contract. So, Y sub-contract it to me lar.

X is a bit demanding and always delay the reports delivery time. Originally, it suppose to be dued on March, but then, it was delay till June.

You know lar, I got my contract in May, thus, I can't follow through. So, I sub-contract the remaining portion of the work to Miss Z.

Of course, all parties are aware of this - Company X, Y and Miss Z all sign a contract about this remaining part of the job, which I suppose to finish but unable due to new assignment and due to the delay in Company X postponing the reporting.

Thus, everyone was happy until today, I received so many emails from Miss Z and Company Y.

Company Y complains that Miss Z did not perform her task well enough and they have to incur a lot of manpower to rectify the errors. Company X was unhappy with Company Y too as they claimed that the consultant they got is not good enough.

Miss Z, on the other hand, claims that these allegations are not true and she had performed her duty in due.

Company Y would only willing to pay her 65% of contract value.

Miss Z cries and claimed that this is unfair and she wanted 100% payment.

Thus, both of Miss Z came to me and ask me what should she do.

Company Y, has all the right to ask me to stay the fuck away since I was not involved in the contract. This is none of my business anymore as a new contract was signed.

Miss Z, a single lady, with 2 kids to raise, approached me helplessly that she needs to feed the kids and ask me for help. She told me that she had performed her work according to the contract. She needs this money to move on in life.

Since I was the one who introduce Miss Z to Company Y, I feel obligated to help resolve this conflict.

What would you do if you are on my position? I really wanted to help here.

FYI, my wife has just added me another baby boy this afternoon at 15.05p.m. 21/08/2006. Baby's weight is 7lb10. His name is Gian X X ("Big WOK"! i haven't think of his name yet!)
What a day for me, worried & happy at the same time, my elder son was warded at the same hospital today as well because of food poisoning a couple of days ago. He discharged yesterday after 2 days of dripping & today go in ward again. damn coincidence. So, basically you can imagine, i was like walking up n down to see my kid & my wife one at 2nd floor & one at 5th floor @ the Sunway Hospital the whole afternoon. Those nurses at that two floors know what happened to me & keep on saying that I m a "lucky" father . ya ya ya "lucky guy", wait till the bill comes c how "lucky" i can be....mine might have add another zero at the back compare to Kow's medical bill. This "WOK" really "KUM".

As the season is slowing moving from summer to autumn now, is very common for people here to get a cold or flu.

I had a very bad flu last week. Since I had an operation begining of this year, I am a bit kiasee nowadays with flu. Thus, I went for a doctor - A GP okay, not an ENT specialist.

He gave me some medication as per the pix above.

The bill: RMB 980!!

That is almost equivalent to Ringgit Malaysia 490! For a flu! Can you imagine? I checked my company insurance coverage and found that they can only cover me for RMB440! I have to fork out RMB540 for the remaining of the bill.

I almost die of heart attack when I receive the bill. Next time, forget about the flu..... just live with it.....

No joke. You NEED a license to cycle here in Shanghai.

If you break the law, you will need to show this license, just like the driving license. Except that you do not have the RM50 at the back of the license.

Registration Plate Number. Yes, no joke, you will need a plate number on your bicycle okay. Just like a car. This is one of the greatest inventions here in China. Very popular - Electronic Bicycle - it runs on battary (fully rechargeable). Well, it works just like a motorbike and if the power runs out, hey, no sweat, you can cycle (and hence the padels are there). Cost - RMB2,000

The bike in yellow is even more fascinating. I nearly bought this. This is a foldable bicycle. You can literally fold it up and put it into a bag (and carry around). Isn't it cool? Usually people buy this for multiple transportation modes... if the journey is too far....

Imagine if you need to go on a journey like 20km away. You cycle to the subway station, then you fold it up. Take the subway. Once reach your intended station, you just unfold your bicycle and cycle to your destination. Isn't that cool? This bike probably cost RMB400 - RMB500.....

There are millions of bicycles on the road. Even the ladies here cycle with miniskirts on - they just don't care. That is distracting man. How to concentrate on the road like that? No wonder so many guys have accidient here while cycling. Well no pictures guys - let me try to get a few tomorrow....

Owning a car here is difficult. If you ever met anyone with cars here in Shanghai, chances are - they are cash rich.

People here buy car in CASH.

There is no hire purchase loan here in China. Even if there are banks which offers (very, very few), they need to see your property here. No property, no loan. No cash, no car!

Actually, cycling is fun, come to think of it....... :D I don't have that amount of cash.....

You know, one of the many things I have to get used to is living without a damn car.

We Malaysians are so pampered, especially for me, who would literally drive a car out for a journey like 30 meter to buy newspaper.

For the past 2 months, without a descent transportation is totally unimaginable. Not only for me, even my daughter complains to me on a daily basis..

"Daddy... where is your car?"

"Errr....... in Malaysia lar..."

"So you got car or not in Shanghai?"

"Errr..... No......"

"NO!!!!! WWWAAAARRRRRR! I don't love Shanghai, I want to go back to Malaysia!!!!!"

(My wife heard this....)

"I want to go back to Malaysia too you damn @#$%%^&*^%$, when I married you and you promise house lar, car lar, money lar.... now you shit head bring me to this shit place for a shit treatment...... you @#$%^^%$#%^*&$%#@;*&^*&^%%$#&#@^&*"

The price is a bit high for my liking but is still within my range. Hey, I need something that fit my image right?

So I bought it....

RMB 300. Plus one helmet RMB100. Pretty good you know.

I even have many admirers..... look at that....

The basket in front can put grocery and the seat behind can take one person. The seat I am sitting is leather.

Pang Ling came over to Shanghai last month and I offered him a ride..... but he dare not... Chicken! What's wrong with 90 minutes ride from hotel to restaurant?

My wife and daughter also dare not. But at least I offer... Not my fault if they dare not sit right? What is the difference between 2 wheels and 4 wheels? Not much right?

See.... your friend here is slowly localizing...... I am going to be a China man now......

7th mth Celebration

This is the first time I experience how a Singaporean company do the 7th mth celebration.
The scale of the celebration is really amazing!
This year, the date of the celebration falls on 12 Aug.

The participant will be given a “goodies bag”, which consists of groceries, food, fruits and poultry (a roasted chicken and a roasted duck), all in all, it worths more than S$120/ea.

This year, there are 75 participants, thus, there were 75 goodie bags to be prepared.
Technically speaking, this can’t be called a goodies bag in view of it’s size and the weight.

Early in the morning, volunteers had arrived to the scene and started doing the packing.
An “assembly line’ had been set up to do this at the fastest and most efficient way.

At 12.08pm, the celebration ceremony started with the boss burning the joss stick, and followed by the employees.

All the goodies bags & poultry were put for 拜拜 before being given away to the participants.

These are part of the ‘gold & silver’ to be offered.
And they are the results of the employees' hard work for weeks.

The rest of offerings include ‘shoes’, ‘clothing’, ‘money’…etc.

The burning ceremony started at 1.30pm.
The offerings were brought to the roadside for burning.
Look at the quantity!

After the street burning, 10-course lunch was served.

And the most exciting event was the bidding program.
Auspicious items (like 貔貅，玉龙，发财蟾蜍，逍遥佛 etc... ), electrical stuff (Digital Camera, MP3 Player, Oven....etc) and even TOTO tickets were being auctioned. And most of the amounts called were auspicious numbers like 4888, 3138, 1288…….
It was quite fun and exicting watching our bosses fighting over some of the items.

The whole event ended at 5pm and everybody left with a smiling face and full-handed!

Today(Agong’s birthday) i still gotta "See" shop at The Curve early in the morning.“Damn,找钱艰难阿，public holiday still have to work.” with such miserable thought in mind, Nic recommended's book flashes in my mind, look in front of me MPH bookstore is just around the corner. So decided to sneak out to buy this book, guess what, can’t found it. Okey, doesn’t matter, Borders is just at the other corner only. After spending an hour or so in Borders, came out still empty handed. Thought to my selves, since got so much time to spent, why not go to Popular bookstore at IKANO Power Station. Suddenly realized that this area got so many bookstores.

Finally got this book at Popular. 哗！ this book contains just 64 pages, minus 18 pages of forewords & customer’s testimonials, left over is just 46 pages of contents, plus only half page of wordings, this author really is a lazy man. Kow, if book like this also can sell, your book should come out disregards the numbers of wordings... See the tickness

And the opening started like this,

my first though-Nic is the one supposed to study this book :) Kow, you will be a millionaire 5 years later and all of us are going to be a millionare!! YEAH!!

On the first thought, this book gonna take me 5 minutes only to "gou dim", Hell right, it took me less than few minutes to flip through, but it took me hours to digest the points. I couldn’t believe it my selves. Those serious shares player will have the same feeling.

After taking some effort to scan the book to share with you all, realized it’s very the time consuming, hence, here’s the summary of the book.

Once again, I realized how meaningful our friendship can brought us, my most sincere appreciation especially to you Nic.

Just come to Hong Kong and eat something really unhealthy, your life span will be shorten by a few years.

No doubt, HK is an eating heaven. I LOOOOOVE HK food. Damn tasty. Below is just the tasty food that I had during my 3 weeks stay here. Wonderful but real deadly for your body. Duck Tongue...... tasted really gillie
Very yumy mango tong sui - but the calorie count can go beyong 400 cal okay? That is 30 minutes of treadmill....
Siew Yoke and Yuuu Chu - very deadly staff. Very fatty pork.....
Idian food - somehow, the curry puff here cost 20X more per piece. Damn.
The Idian meal... Raymond just insisted of having one. The bill came out to be HK$400+
Again, the Siew Yok and Yee Chu......
And some indian food again - curry curry curry.....
The Tea or Mix (Yuen Yong) are the best here. Better than KL Mamak. HK$6 per cup.
And one China restaurant I tried here in HK. Pretty good, but still loads of calories and carbo. Those things that make one fat.
Just look at the fat here.... gosh..... fat fat fat......

Thus, I am dying for vege here.

Put on at least another 2kg here....

Went to Wong Kok today with Raymond, killing our time before meeting up with PG to return her the camera. Sorry lar, I would have taken a few shots for this story but since I am returning the camera to her, and don't really want her to keep a collection of those offending pics (cultural shock), decided to keep the impact mild lar :D

By accident, we ended in a plaza just around the corner of Wong Kok. We were kind of tired already and a bit "sean"lah (hey, two 30 years old guys doing window shopping together is pretty boring okay.... people may think that we are engaging in Brokeback Mountain activity or something).

Once we reached the first floor...... suddenly I saw an amazing scene. I felt the blood gushing up to my head and flowing wildly like Tsunami! My heart was beating like a wild horse, my face turned red, I breath heavily, I felt sweat in my hand and streams of sweat just dripped down from my forehead continuously. I saw stars, I felt the plaza turning....... oh my god........ this is fantasy island man........ This whole floor sells nothing but PORNO DVDS!!!!!

Shops after shops of pornos..... Scene after scene of naked ladies. No movies, no series and certainly no dramas! Nothing but porns only. Everyone was displaying the DVDs on the shelves and everyone was playing some sample on their TVs (with volumn blasted to the max). Thus, what I heard every where was "Ooooh.... ahhhh...... yeahh....... more......." The whole floor was filled with these seducing TV screen and sounds.....

We checked from one store to another and realised that they were almost the same everywhere.... Think they have more than millions over collection here, ranging from Japan, US, Africa, Russia etc etc....

The cost:
Buy 1 DVD = HK$30
Buy 2 DVDs = HK$50
Buy 7 DVDs = HK$100 (and they give up to 9 DVDs if they are desperate)

Thus, we bought 2. OK. Just to watch it in the hotel lar.... me so lonely. Can't bring back to KL mah....

Immediately after we bought the DVDs, we walked out of the plaza. On the way to the escalator, two policemen walked up with walkie talkie, suddenly I heard a tunderous sound of shops closing down.... Bang, bang, bang, bang............. this was amazing man..... so funny.

Watched it in the hotel after that. Felt a bit cheated....... damn, those porn DVDs I bought were worse than "3 cap" lar..... nothing juicy at all.... damn....... cannot compared to the collections I have from home.

Finally here come my blog, sorry for waiting so long :P The trip was so sudden coz i was replacing my dad's place to this "duck duck" tour. He was having a minor operation on his nose 2 wks b4 the trip and not encourage to take a flight. In order not to waste the air ticket, i followed all "yi ma ku che" to this famous spot - zhangjiajie.
Day 1 - Hometown of President Mau, most of the ppl in China treat him as God.

After much persuasion from Sammi, decided to pay a visit to Knutsford Street in Tsim Sar Thui (TST as all Hongkies call it). Yeah, we suppose to meet up at TST last week instead of Lan Kuai Fung. Apparently, Sammi called this place the TST's Lan Kuai Fung, thus, must pay a visit lar.
While waiting for Raymond and wife to join, I decided to have a nice beer at this street. Well Sammi, a bit overrated lar, cannot compare to LKF lar.... Just a few pubs and restaurants but nothing fancy lar.
Kow: Hi, give me a beer please.

Waiter: Can. Wait ah. Now happy hour.

Kow: How much?

Waiter: HK$38 only per mug.

Kow: (thinking silently: kan ni nah.... so expensive one) Okay lar. Give me one mug.

After 5 minutes....

Waiter: Sir, here is the beer and here is the bill.

I looked at the bill.... Beer HK$28 and prawn chips HK$10

Kow: Eh, I don't want the chips.

Waiter: Sir, where are you from?

Kow: Malaysia

Waiter: Sir, all customers here have to take the prawn chips one leh. Malaysia don't have one meh? This is company policy.

Lucky that the prawn chips is refillable. Thus, almost eat prawn chips for dinner. After another 20 minutes and much frustration....

After the damn expensive beer, decided to walk around lar. Suddenly saw this hotel. They, isn't this hotel the one that Sammi brought her clients to.... not bad at all man. This hotel is just around the corner of Knutsford street only. Damn, better than my funeral hotel.

Don't get me wrong! I'm not trying to betray Malaysia.
But, there is something about Singapore that Malaysia should really learn.
Singapore has been well known for it's efficiency, e.g. it has 1 single cash card to pay for all parking fee, toll fee, to buy anything, and to make any payment. Like wise, all shops accept ATM to may purchase payment.
Besides, Internet payment is well-accepted, as long as you feel comfortable, you can make any payment via Internet.
All the above might not be new to you.
But, recently, I hv had a very pleasant experience with the government agency that I must share with you guys.

In order to convert my driving license, I am required to sit for a test for "Basic Theory of Driving". This test is computerised.
I hv booked for a test session on 9.15am. One hour before the test, candidate could go for a trial test, to get familiarised with the computer system. In fact, it is very straight forward, the computer is touch-screen, you just hv to tap the screen to select the right answer, and proceed, from Q1 to Q50.
The passing score is 45 & above, and 50 mins to complete the test.
Once you hv finished, you just hv to tap for RESULT, and immediately, you are informed if you were PASSED or FAILED. With the result, you could proceed to the counter to make the license,if you hv passed.
I took less than 3 hours for the whole process!
Don't you find this is so efficient?!

As compared with our JPJ, it took me 4 hours to get a print out!
To convert the licence, besides sitting for the theory test, I hv to submit a print out from JPJ, stating my driving record in Malaysia.
The print out is very simple, only giving the information in English, the date I started driving in Malaysia, and the validity of my current driving license.
It was on Friday that I went to JPJ, I knew that the working hours were short.
I arrived JPJ on 10.45am, and submitted all relevant doc before 11.00am.
The officer insisted that they stopped working by 11.00am (but the official working hour is until 12.00 noon), and wanted me to go back by 3pm to get the print out (while they should come back by 2.30pm). There was a Indian couple arrived the same time as me, begged the officer to let them hv the print out before the office closed for prayer/ lunch, as they were rushing to catch a flight back to Singapore.
The only answers they got were...."TAK BOLEH", "MANA BOLEH"....it was so irritating!

Besides the systems, our government officers should change their working attitude, and be more considerate & helpful. Else, we could never catch up with our neighbour.

Hong Kong, Hong Kong - Part 2 - Cheung Chau Trip

As I was kind of fedup about the shopping and makan in HK, I proposed to my friend that we should really go the somewhere ulu. Thus, we decided to make a trip to Cheung Chau! Seen and heard about this place so many times in the Hong Kong series but Cheung Chau is never a spot in our touring agenda during our HK tour.

As my friend here have not been to Cheung Chau since he came here 7 years ago, we were kind of excited and looking forward to this trip today.

A bit of intro about my friend here, he is Raymond. One of my very best friends known since my secondary school time. He has nice and firm buttock. Moreover, he has pink nipples too. Oh... gorh....... have been reading too much of the porn section of the HK newspaper.... Those sentences just came out too naturally while writing an entry....

He is now married with his wife, Joanna - a Hongkie too. Lovely lady. Took real good care of me during my stay here in HK.

Before we took the ferry to Cheung Chau, mesti makan sarapan dulu lar. See, not so wonderful meal but it ended up with the damage of HK$70. Makan here is so expensive in HK.

Told you that we were so looking forward to this trip. Look at how happy we were... We departed at about 11:12am as stated in the photo.
After 30 minutes, we finally reached the long awaited Cheung Chau. Looks a bit ulu really, but that was what we really after - just get away from the damn city!
Noticed a very interesting sign here. Think that somehow, many people try to jump to the sea to commit suicide..... BTW, for those of you who do not know, Cheung Chau is a heavan for commiting suicide - "burning carcoal". Somehow, many young couples go to Cheung Chau to kill themselves the minute their family oppose to their relationship. Then they ended up staying in the Hotel Funeral next to my hotel here..... EEEEERRRRRIIIIIEEEEEE........
First sign that appeared is this..... So, don't play play okay. Don't mess around with the police in HK.
It was kind of dissapointing when we arrived. It was pouring really heavily. Damn. Such a party pooper... lucky that we have our umbrellas with us... No way was this rain gonna take away our joy man.... NO WAY.

As we were kind of hungry again and just to get a shelter from the downpour, we went to this dim sum restaurant to makan.

The dim sums were delicious! Yum Yum. They were totally different from what we can have in KL.

Huh, this is one of the highlight - the dragon boat racing festival! They have a mega function here with this event. What an experience.
We decided to take the bike instead of walk. However, since it was pouring heavily, we bought ourselves some raincoats. Here is the photo with us in Emporio Armani Suits.
Got myself a DKNY slippers too.
I thought my friends were so enthusiastic about the bicycle ride - who knows that they rented this and getting me to ride them around..... I was like a hero and said - No Problem. You dare you come lar.......
After 2 minutes, they really scared....... So, they decided to take the bikes on their own instead.

Cost of renting the bicycle - cheap - HK$20 for 3 hours per bike. Not bad at all.

The only reason why we want to rent the bike was because we want to visit the Cheung Poh Chai cave i.e. Cheung Poh Chai = Peter Cheung in English.

Peter Cheung was a historical person - who was a pirate. Chow Yuen Fatt is going to feature in the sequel of "Pirates of the Carribean III". This is him lar. Apparently, he went into hiding in this cave during his pirate time. Thus, we must go and check out the cave.
It was quite a hike to get up to the cave, but the view and journey was magnificent. Love it.
BTW, the Peter Cheung cave is just at the back of my friends. We finally reached after only 15 minutes of hiking, albeit, with heavy rain.
That IS the cave. My friend was like a hero and quicky jumped into the cave.
This was the photo taken inside the cave... isn't it beautiful? Somehow, I think not go in. Hey, how to go to cave adventure with my cute slippers lar. Somemore it was raining heavily. Slippery like hell.
Thus, after staying for about 10 minutes, we went to another place. Wonderful sea view. Love it! It was quite cooling too.
Somehow, I realised that there were wild cactus everywhere here in the island. Thus, took a pic here. They are real wild cactus okay.

Wow, even their toilet is so damn clean. See, just like hotel and you can literally lick the floor.

It was still raining heavily at 3pm. Thus, we decided to call it a day and went back at 3:30pm.

Next time you go to HK, take a trip to Cheung Chau. Quite a nice trip. Just to get myself off from the hectic city life.

Hong Kong, Hong Kong - Part 1

Okay gang. Today is the 14th day I stayed in HK. I have been to HK for the n~th time but this trip is the longest I had stayed thus far...

Somehow, I realised that HK is a wonderful place to stay... but.... once you stay for a bit longer... HK can be quite boring. Especially I really miss my wife and my baby here in HK. Really can't wait to go home next Friday.

Nothing much to do other than shopping, shopping, clubbing, makan makan etc etc.

I am kind of feeling lonely here already. Lucky that I have my colleagues and friends here to keep me entertained. Can't wait to go home next Friday!

BTW, as I mentioned earlier, I am staying in a hotel near the famous funeral house in HK. ALL the big shots who were dead have to check into this "hotel" at least for a few nights - Leslie Cheong, Anita Mui, Roman........ all of them have been the guest here... My hotel is just next to this funeral house... Really, it gave me a chill during my first night stay here. Really scary. No joke, I had a weird dream during my first night here.

This is the hotel that I am currently staying right now. Well, is an okay hotel I must say. I am kind of sick of the food here, well... my meal is covered by the company. Thus, have to eat dinner here almost every single night. Expensive but lousy.

Check it out. This is my daily journey to the office. Just follow the red arrow and you can imagine that the walking journey to the office is not an easy one. Lucky that I watched Spiderman 1 and 2, and learn the trick about rock climbing.
Guess what? The beer here is DEAD CHEAP! A dozen of Budweiser cost only HK$79!!! which is about RM37++ I think. Hey, a 6 packs of Carlsberg already cost you RM36 lar in Malaysia.... Thus, I play drunken master kungfu with my new found friends from the funeral house almost everynight......
I must say that the quality of the newspaper here is amazing. So much more entertaining than Malaysia one. First - it cost about HK$4 for "The Sun" or HK$5 for the Apple daily, but what you pay for is almost as thick as the yellow pages (look at the pic here!). Almost 40% of the news are related to HK entertainment industry, especially those celebrities, and those female artists who were caught with their bra or underwear exposed! Now I understand why those artists hated those "doggie journalists". Is amazing that how they can come out with those made up stories - and is totally not trust worthy. Huh.... the most amazing part... see below....
They have the adults only section here. Can you believe it? The porn section.... wooo hooo.... men's heaven. These porn articles or juicy stories are available daily in the "horse racing" section. Mainly talk (or introduce) about the new prostitutes in town. Well... at least it gives me the motivation to read paper everyday.... ha ha.... never can find this in Malaysia..... Amazing. Wonder how the parents can control/prevent/(read togather) their kids from reading those section since is so widely available here in HK and this adult section is in almost every major newspapers....

Arrived Hong Kong on 21 May, 12.15pm. Gosh, it was pauring! But some one told me good weather in HK, hm....still should trust Yahoo, I checked before going, and it showed that HK would hv rain/ thunderstorm for the next few days! Alas, didn't bring umbrella.

Due to budget constraint, I took Airbus A21 to go to the 'hotel' I booked.
Pretty straight forward, and in the bus, there was a LED display to show the place where the next bus stop was. Very clear, and you won't get lost if you know how to read Mandarine or English, and the name of the place that you are heading to.

It was still raining when I alighted from the bus, and had to walk a bit under the rain to finally find the exact location of the hotel. Strictly speaking, the hotel is less than 100m from the spot I alighted, but, too bad, it didn't hv a good signboard, thus I hv overshot and hv to ask someone to finally get to the place.
Guess what?! Got Wifi man! I managed to check my mail before going out at 3.00pm to meet up with Kow & PG. However, the room is extremely small, but, it is very new, and with very high standard of cleaniless, good enough for a budget traveller, asking for a short stay, but, actually not cheap for a Malaysian....HKD350 = RM175. We can ask for a much better hotel with this price in Malaysia.

I arrived at Jordon MTR station E exit, sharp sharp 3.00pm, and didn't see any sign of our old friends...huh, finally, a handsome & sporty-looking guy appeared in front of me, yes, he was our dearest friend, Kow! He dressed so 'ching chun', just like a scholl boy, or a 'guy-next-door', never can tell that he is already in his mid 30's, haha. He came from Stanley Bay with his friends, Raymond & wife. We decided to adjour to ESPRIT OUTLET for shopping!
Not bad a suggestion, I did buy something, that used up all my HKD cash.
Oh...forgot to mention, Dr.Yap was not feeling was, and thus, didn't join us.

Time to eat!! Yes, my first meal in HK, Raymond bought us to a 澳门茶餐室.
We had 猪扒猪仔包, and 烧味拼盘, sounds yummy, right?
Then after, we took a Star Ferry to Central, 中环.
As it was a Sunday, Central became a heaven for the Philipino maids.
They gathered in groups, setting up 'camp' at the sides of the walkways, picnicing, chit-chatting and playing card games....it was so spectacular to see so many of them. I should hv taken a photo to share with you guys. It was comparable to the number of the motorbikes I saw in Hanoi/ HCM City, haha!

Where else to go when you were in Central? Of course, Lan Kwai Fong, 兰桂芳 la!
We had drinks while waiting for PG to arrive.
Alas, too bad it was raining again! Not much people hanging in Lan Kwai Fong, not to mention 靓仔靓女, none at all, what a disappointment!

We hopped from 1 pub to another, and finally waited for PG at THE CAVERN.

When PG arrived, it was about 7.30pm. We had a short stay in Lan Kwai Fong, while waiting for the rain to subtle, and the time to meet Sammi at Mongkok, 旺角 at 9.30pm.
Mongkok is where PG stays. Upon arriving at Mongkok, there were so many food stalls, restuarants... we couldn't help ourselves but to hv 1 stick of fish ball, 鱼蛋 each. It was very tasty and VERY spicy too. Me and Kow, ended up rushing to 7-11 to buy drinks to wash down the spiciness. Me couldn't talk for a while as the fish balls were just too spicy, and felt like my lips and tougue were burnt! Why PG didn't hv any problem?! She took the non-spicy one! Oh ya, Kow ate 1 pc of 臭豆腐 as well! Not sure how did it taste like, as I never tried.
Not done yet! As HK is the heaven for good food, how could me not get more? We went for porridge again before meeting Sammi.

By then, Kow started to shiver...he needed his 'drug' and deperately looking for the supplier! Yes, Sammi became the supplier of Kow's 'drug'. She got him 2 carton of Dunhil at discounted 'discounted price'! See how happy was he having the 1st cigarette.

Finally, four 30+ years old adults, meeting their long-lost primary school mates!

How about another one! Hmm....also not very good.

We didn't really hv much time chatting with 4 of us around. Sammi left at 10.30pm to take care of her 'ducks' and Kow left about 11.00pm to report to Madam.
PG & I stayed till mid nite, and we seemed to hv endless topic to chat to each other.
I didn't expect that, 2 souls that had not met each other for over 20 years can still click! But, swear....I didn't ask for any free medical consultation from our Dr.Yap!

The next day, everybody had to go to work and I was wandering around in Nathan Road, shopping.
It was still raining, xian ah!
I checked out from the hotel at 12noon and went to Kwai Fong to meet up another friend there.
Kwai Fong is somewhere outskirt...but amazingly...I found some nice clothings with very reasonable price.
Had dinner with my friend, and he was so kind to accompany me to go Shenzhen as it was quite late after we finished our dinner.

Meeting & Product Training in Shenzhen was tiring, coz I didn't hv enough sleep for the past 2 nites. After the whole thing was over, we took a ferry from Shenzhen to Hong Kong airport directly, so convenient!

Seriously, it was a good trip meeting PG, Sammi & Kow in HK, as well as my another friend. Really appreciate that PG did come out despite she was sick; Sammi tried her best to sneak out while on duty, and Kow, supposed to go to Chang Zhou (if I remember correctly) on the Sunday we met. But, all of them made an effort to meet up! So touching...

But, I have to say that, we didn't really hv enough time. Hope I would hv chance to go HK again soon, and will sure spend more time in HK, meeting old friends and shopping too!

This is my new car, a Mazda 2 (1.5A)!
Got it the day before I left for HK, i.e. 20 May 2006.
Well, this means that, I hv to start spending more monies.
Season Parking at the flat that I'm staying, already cost me S$90/mth!
Mthly installment, insurance, road tax.....I'm asking for trouble buying a car!
Fortunately, my company is subsidising part of it by giving car allowance for those who own a car. And that is the reason why I hv decided to buy a car.
It would be much easier to move around, and most importantly, I don't hv to wake up at 6am, and leave home at 6.45am to take MRT to work.
You must be wondering....Singapore so small, do I need so long to get to office?

Figure out yourself (if you can read the map la), I am staying in Seng Kang, and my work place is at Expo, what is the route I'm taking to reach my office!
But, by driving, it takes only 15-20 mins during smooth traffic condition.
So, the next time you guys visit to Singapore, I should be able to be the host, driving you guys around! :D

Somehow, following a reality show is a good way to keep our (I mean me and my wife) relationship more exciting. Arguing who will be the next idol and criticising each other's idol is sure a fun way. We always find things to do togather and have fun about it. Somehow, her "idol" was booted out way before the final - her's was Ace Young - the good looking but lousy singer.

Last encounter with Clive in KL

Sorry lar, this blog had been sitting in the "work-in-progress" status for quite sometime. No time to finish off the entry.... Thus, decided to do so since got nothing much to do in HK.

About 5 days before I went to HK, Clive, his mom, my baby Ashley, my maid and myself went to Seremban to hunt for the famous Seremban beef noodle.

Before that, of course, must annouce something lar. Clive's mum was so kind that she agreed to take over Ah Keong. In the pic is the tortoise handover ceremony. Now my tortoise is in safe hand.

Luck was not on our side that day. After 30 minutes of driving, we finally reached Seremban and my stomoch was protesting violantly. However, as we arrived at the restaurant, we discovered that the restaurant was closed!

Thus, we went to another famous one at somewhere nearby, the one in the wet market. Rumour has it that this restaurant is own by the former's father. Donno how true is this. Hey, rumours okay..... rumours...

Dissapointing enough, it was closed also. Damn...... Must be Clive lar.... knowing that he was coming, everyone quick quick closed shop lar......

Without much choices, we adjorned to a pretty lousy, beef noodle wannabe to eat lar, just few stores down the lane. It was no where near the standard of what we intended to eat okay. Terrible! Horrble! Lousy!

I must mention something about the journey, we walked, from the car park to the wet market. It was HORRIFIC!

The smell was so terrible on the journey towards the restaurant (which is located at level 1 of the market). We almost lost all of our appetite during the short, albeit, seems like ages, walk up to the restaurant. Then, after the lousy meal, we have to walk pass the same journey again. Felt like throwing up on the way back to the car. Yulks! At the bottom is the store you should NOT go okay. No good.

Lucky that the famous Seremban "Siew Pao" was opened that day. Thus, at least, we managed to buy some nice Siew Pao to eat. At least something lah.

Even the aunty that sell the Siew Pao was so happy and coorporative. She actually dressed up for our photo shooting session. So nice of her. If you realise, she actually put on her cap for the photo shoot. Funny.
Later that day, after dropping off Clive's mom and my daughter, both of us went to OASIS bar in Bangsar for a drink, while waiting for his friends.

Must be me drinking too much lar. Somehow, after the drinking session, I had a bad accident - I bang someone's car.

Damn, that accident caused me RM450 okay. Heart ache. Told you all, never drink and drive. Below is the pic of the car which I knocked on. This was the most expensive beer I ever had man.

Met up today at "Tong Loh Wan" Time square. Then we went to the famous Wan Ton noodles for dinner. It was an amazing experience to meet up with an old friend in a foreign country man. Loving more on what we can do with our network from Kuen Cheng.

Anyone planning to go over to HK, just look for her. Your medical care benefits are well taken care off with her around! I got a pack of constipation pills from her :D Complimentary from her. Now I can have my bowel movement smoothly every morning.....

She is very generous too... She lend me her digital camera just for the blog, since I do not have a digital camera with me .... Thus, I can now blog a lot more often with nice photos. Too bad that you guys miss the "Tyhoon Pearl", which was widely covered in CNN news. Strong wind man... what a new experience for me. Nearly blew me off the street while walking to my new office in HK.

6th May 06 was the most bizzare day of our gathering history thus far, I think.

Booze abuse, sex, violence, money.... you name it, you got it. Anyhow, I think it was a kick a** day! Totally stunning! I had fun man. Wish we can have more of these psycho booze orgy more often.

Too bad that I did not bring my camera that day. Thus, have to settle with this low quality photo from Peter's mobile phone. What a shame that we only took one picture....

BTW, Peter Cheong was not in the pic as he was taking this photo after severe alcohol abuse...... (now you know why the pic is not sharp lar)

Seafood orgy
The gathering started as early as 6:30pm at a seafood restaurant in Damansara Perdana. Heard that they ordered 2 plates of crab, 1 fish, and donno how many other plates of pork, vege and tau fu lar..... the bill came out at only RM121 (I wasn't there to witness, went to another dinner). Can someone please update us on what happen during that mysterios 3 hours of dinner? How come the seafood so cheap one...... ?

Severe Booze Abuse
At 9:30pm, we gathered at the same old good place, Casa Vino Cellar, The Curve.

Did anyone of you count how many bottles of wine we gulp in that night? I think it was 7 bottles!

There were 10 of us that night. Counting out Seng's wife who didn't drink because she is pregnant, there were 9 of us left to finish off the booze. Also, counting out Sammi and Wai Hoong who didn't drink that much, on average, I must say we drank almost 1 bottle of wine per person.
Can't really summarise what we had discussed that night, everyone seems to make sense during the first 2 bottles. Then the discussions went a bit puzzling after the third bottle. I must say that the "man of the match" that day was Peter Cheong. Not only he can drink, he can also talk like a machine gun that went out of control, especially after 4 glasses of wine..... Su Yin drank like a fish too. Think I vaguely remember that at one point, she has two glasses of wine in her hands........

Money
Bravo to our ruthless fund manager! Our KCSF made RM500! Thanks to Shiao Wei! I made RM18 with RM1k investment - about 1.8% return.....

Hiring An Assassin
Somehow, we were on the topic of "how much does a person's life worth" that night. This bizarre discussion started off by 林晓X, albeit, after one bottle of wine. I realised that one's life doesn't really cost that much....

I must give credit to 林晓X for an eye opening info sharing session. Coupled with Peter's confirmation on what a foreign assassin would do....

Some how, both Clive and I feel that 林晓X has a very strong charisma of being a "tai kar cheh".... natural born leader.....

Anyway, it was fun overall. Seng and Pang Ling left at about 12:30pm... I think. The rest continued to talk till 1:30.... or was it 2?

Thanks to Sammi, she gave Clive and myself a ride back home.... So nice of her.... I a bit "kia see" as scared of being caught after drinking. Thus, didn't drive. Reach home at 3:30am.

After tonight, donno when we can have another drinking session again....

Food: Steamboad using rice cooker... hey, this is new to me. Now I know that rice cooker can be a good source for steam boat too. Extremely delicious steamboat feast. Love it a lot. Very creative idea from Clive mom.

So, gang, this saturday, 6th May meeting is on. He'll be there. You guys can go for dinner first and I join in later yeah. See you all again....

I submitted mine (and my wife) via e-Filing. Overall, it was a pretty good experience. As I always tell people, of all the government agencies in Malaysia, IRB and EPF are the two most efficient one. Very responsive and they know what they are talking about.

For those whom have not tried the e-Filing, these are the steps you need to follow:

Go to any IRB branch to get your Digital Certificate - you need the pin number to log in
You can either fill up there and there or go home and do it at your own leisure (we chose the later)
Log on to https://e.hasil.org.my/ and the screen above will show

Tips:
You can collect the Digital Certificate on behalf of someone. What you need is the name of the person and his/her IC number. You can also ask someone to collect for you too.

Once you are in the e-Filing page, you first need to register your Digital certificate. I screwed up on this process twice! Screwed it up so badly that my wife have to collect the DC again from IRB office!

Here was what happened, somehow, I missed the page to key in the username and password (twice), the page just didn't go according to the order. Pay attention when you are in the page of setting security level (think is middle) by default (and that is how I screwed it up). You need to adjust it to "High".

Once you register your DC, you can now download the electronic BE form. Yes, you will need to download first, then install the program in your PC.

Tips:

You need to turn off your firewall to do so. If not, it will block the download. Also, pay extra attention on the setting of the security level as mentioned above.

This is the result after the installation. Just fill it up accordingly. Pretty cool, it has "copy" function (where you can copy the home address to mailing address). It also has the auto sum function to calculate your taxable income.

If you are not sure and screw up something, call their hotline number - 1-300-88-3010 Hell lot of difficult to get through (tried almost one hour) and that pissed me off. However, once they are on the line with you, they are damn bloody efficient. Super efficient and technologically super knowledgable. Hard to believe that they are from the government department.

Once you are done with the form, just go to "Tandatangan Dan Hantar", you are done.

Since my wife's digital signature is not working, I'll have to submit on her behalf. This is also acceptable according to the IRB super efficient customer service people.

The Digital Certificate is valid for three years only. Thus, after 3 years, you'll need to get the new one again.

Have fun trying. I find online submission a very convenient way compared to the old way. I can now submit my form in Shanghai next year.

Referring to the fund mentioned, there are few things that we need to do before we can start making $$$ :))

1. Register a trading ac - I suggest we use PangLeng's name to register a trading ac as i cant register more than one ac in one securities firm.

2. Open a joined name banking ac - We can register under 3 major shareholders name and either two to sign for withdrawal.

3. I am not sure we need to setup a company (S/B) at this moment, or just stick to the plan above. Pls provide opinion on this matter.

Those who were early gathered at Tawkay Seng's and his wife's boutique - Oltre Moda, which means beyond fashion in English, according to him. Stunning collections of female fashion with very reasonable price. Anyone looking for good quality, at the edge of fashion and yet seeking for great value, go to his shop. Great interior design too. Ladies must go and buy from his shop lar, support a bit mah.

We proceeded straight to the cellar and ordered 2 bottles of wine - one red and one sparkling white wine. Our special instruction - Don't give us anything more than RM100/bottle! And ta! ta! - RM76 each. BTW, the VIP room was fascinating. Nicole was a member, that's how we got the room.

When Nicole arrived at 10:30p.m, we had another red wine at RM99.99 (still below our budget). That certainly tasted better than the earlier red. Can't remember the brand (and too drunk to take another photo) but heck, I'll never spent so much on a bottle for personal consumption. It was fabulous.

Key highlights of the night on what we talked about:

1. Establishment of the Kuen Cheng Speculative Fund - Not for the faint hearted and extremely dangerous. Is about time we make some money here and we are coming with a fund that do nothing but make money. Thus, Pang Ling promised a contribution of RM20,000, Tawkay Seng RM10,000, Nicole still no exact figure yet and she is going to contribute into the fund. Me, talk so much that night and maybe contributing RM2k first lar... Su Yin and Sammi - RM2-3k too maybe. The rest who did not turn up, you are wellcome to contribute some money too.

Apparently, Nicole is the queen of punters, the punter amongst the punters with solid track record of "frying" the share market, particularly the second or third liner counters. I suspect that she is the leader of the syndicated gangs and the owner of the loan shark organisations too - we promised to keep it hush hush. So don't worry Nicole, we won't tell.

We had also appointed Queen Punter Nicole as our ruthless fund manager too. So, she will call the shot on the management of the fund full time and she will undate us with the monthly transaction update.

For those who wish to participate, remember, make sure you are prepared to lose the money okay. Invest only if you can afford it.

Like the old Chinese saying - "money caused friction to friendship", the following are the rules you need to follow before thinking about contributing, to avoid the above:

We will not question Nicole's decision on the transaction. Example, if she sold off the shares too early and the price continue to hike, no one should question her decision. Same if the price is trending south and she continued to hold on, no one should question her decision of not cutting loses. We must trust her judgement.
As I mentioned yesterday, I do not believe in charity work. Since all of us contribute money and not working, and literally Nicole will be the only one contributing most effort and money, we must give her commision on profit gain. As discussed yesterday, it maybe in the region of 5-10%. Thus, Nicole - eventhough she didn't want to take the commission, I strongly propose her to take it
Nicole must provide us with the transaction detail on monthly basis
Once putting in the money, you must NOT cash out within 12 months. Ah Seng proposed 6 months but I think 12 months is a better period for liquidation purposes - holding power mah especially when a share is trending down
Anyone can top up your investment. For example, 3 months down the road, when Ah Seng wants to top up another RM10,000, he is wellcome too. Please see the following on the impact of profit sharing if one decided to do so

Feel free to add on if you can think of any.

In terms of profit sharing, this is how it works, for example:
Pang Ling - RM20k (43%)
Ah Seng - RM10k (22%)
Punter Queen Nicole - RM10k (22%)
Me - RM2k (4%)
Su Yin - RM2k (4%)
Sammi - RM2K (4%)
Total = RM46K. (100%)

Thus, Pang Ling will be entitled to 43% of the profit gain (minus off cost and Nicole's commission). Since anyone can throw in more money within any period (remember, you cannot cash out for 12 months), it can be quite tricky on profit gain calculation. Thus, I propose something like a pro-rated basis. Confused? Here is the example to explain better:

Let's say the above profit sharing structure remains for 3 months, then suddenly Ah Seng decided to throw in another RM10k. Thus, the new profit sharing structure will be:
Pang Ling - RM20k (36%)
Ah Seng - RM20k (36%)
Punter Queen Nicole - RM10k (18%)
Me - RM2k (3.6%)
Su Yin - RM2k (3.6%)
Sammi - RM2K (3.6%)
Total = RM56K. (100%)

With this, Pang Ling will be entitled to profit sharing of 43% of profit within the first 3 months, but 36% for the remaining 9 months (assuming that no one throw in more money lar).

Do remember that this is the profit sharing structure, it will be the same for expenses/cost contribution too. For example again, if Pang Ling is responsible for 43% or 36% of the profit, he will be tied with 43% or 36% of Nicole's commission and other expenses as well.

Does the above make sense? Feel free to share your view.

You know, we can do other things as well with this - for example - coming up with a Kuen Cheng Property Fund - we buy houses and shop lots with a combined fund while getting someone to manage the rental. See, I may not be able to invest in a RM1 million shoplot. But with this fund available, we can afford one.

Even come up with a Kuen Cheng Water Machine Fund too, the one that Nicole invested RM20k! We can invest in one too you know?

I am very excited about the property fund. Do let me know how you feel.

In terms of the "name"/owner of the fund, as mentioned, I have a company here "Sdn Bhd" to sell off. If you all want, I can convert the company for this purposes. I paid more than RM2,000 for this company and it will cost us RM50 per month to maintain it. Let me know if you want to invest. Name of the shareholders and name of the company will have to change lar. This will cost another RM300 - RM500 to do so.

2. How to get capital to start your business/investment?

Spoke to the rest and realised that many are not aware of this method of getting more cash to invest. Okay, here is the proven method and this was what I did to get my investment capital. Actually, this is nothing new and many did that.

If you have a property under your name (and you must have one), you can always withdraw money from you EPF account 2 to reduce your home loan. Then, you can refinance your house again and get double to money! Eg. of what I did - I took out RM30k from my EPF account and reduce my home loan. Then I re-finance with the same bank and get RM60k of extra cash.

Now see, if you get a personal loan or Overdraft, it will cost you more than 8%, some even charge you at 12%! But with refinance, you enjoy 4-5% of home loan interest rate. Huge savings man.

I tried that. It works. However, make sure that you discuss with your homeloan banker first yeah... Don't blind blind do.

ok, guys, disregard the mess on my computer desk, which is embarrassingly worst than Kow's mess, LOL. See that small black thingy clipped on to my LCD monitor ? Ya, if u want a closer look, there is another picture.

Internet and its gadgets really revolutionized my lifestyle:
Check mail before leaving home in the morning, log on immediately when I step into my office, surf during sips of coffee, reply emails when there are no patients (!), when at home PC is always switched on, check mail, log on msn, chat and video conference.

Kow, notice the 4 small bulbs thingy on my webcam?? Claimed to be able to sense dim light and will compensate for poor lighting wor! Don't know how true la ?! I use MSN for video calls coz it is the most popular in HK. The videoing is unexpectedly good, I am sure your in-laws & your web cams are going to be well-used!!! Definitely worth the $ u paid.

Since I use MSN, i didn't bother installing yahoo messenger, don't want my PC to crash. I heard icq can do video calls as well, but well, icq is getting out of fashion lu.

Ha, u can experiment more with video calls when u are in HK, since u are going to be lonely ... you said, LOL.

Jakun Playing With New Toy

Today I went to Sunway Pyramid with my parents in-law. Since tommorrow is my father in-law's birthday, I was wonderting what gift to buy for him.

Then, I stopped by this computer accessory shop and hey.... maybe I can buy him a webcam for video call.

Great idea!

Thus, I bought two webcams - one for myself and another one for him, since he will miss my baby Ashley so much and wanted to see her almost daily. For some of you who are wondering the cost of a webcam - I paid RM95/webcam. Was told that it is an affordable one with acceptable quality. There are some that are selling at RM70/webcam but the video quality not as good (not too sure how true is that). Some webcams are selling at prices above RM300 (!!) I'm not buying that man. Way out of budget.

Somehow, it turned out to be an amazing evening. We, both myself and my father in law, have been playing on the web telecon like kids discovered some exciting new toys. Amazing. Really like jakun men. We were so amazed by it, but we had fun! Laughing all the way for 3 hours, at different houses!

Look at the webcam on my notebook (okay... my desk a bit messy) and the mike (chaggih leh). Okay, with my trademark wine as well.... Was a bit drunk too. We signed into MSN messanger and did our round of video conferencing on and on.

Amazing man. Those dreams of ours during kids time had come through. We, at least me, always thought of chatting on phone and see each others at the same time. The time has come true. Okay, the video quality is a bit off, and a bit slow too, but, what the heck, we had fun.

MSN Messanger can definitely do so - just tried. I heard Yahoo can do that too (have not tried yet). I have been on Skype for quite some time now and their video conferencing is in beta testing. Tried that but not that satisfactory. Didn't know how to go around it.

Apparently, the sound/voice quality of Skype is much better than MSN. Not too sure about Yahoo yet. Let me know if you have any experience in this. If you are going for VOIP, go for Skype. If you want video - go for MSN or Yahoo (was told).

Also, have you all tried Skype? No? Try it. It's free and is amazing. I have been using that for all my international business conferences - since my biz partners are from Singapore and US.

I noticed something interesting as well - the way people pronounce Skype. How would you pronounce it? Skype or "Sky - Pi"? Somehow, I heard a lot of people pronouce it as "Sky-pi" (especially those from Hong Kong and Malaysians who were influenced by Hong Kong people).. I pronounced it as Skype, how can it be "Sky-pi"? Sounds off.

Ho Chi Ming City gives me a totally different impression as compared to Hanoi. Though the number of motocycles on the road is not second to Hanoi, but the roads in HCM City are obviously more organized and well-kept as compared to the capital city. At least you can see 1 or 2 out of 100 motorists wear helmet. And more cars on the road, thus experience some traffic jam during rush hour. Some roads in the city center are one-way traffic, with 2 or 3 lanes.

We had less than 24 hours in HCM City, thus, didn’t have time to see much, but, the first moment we reach the city centre, we could see high rise buildings like HSCB, Citi Bank, shopping mall like Parkson, and familiar names of those international class hotels like Renansasse, Sheraton…etc. Some hotels have Casino, one of the promiment ones, is called Rex Hotel, the lighting at nite, give you a bit of Las Vegas feel!

The business opportunities here seem to be quite encouraging, as you can see all those foreign bank set up their HQ here in HCM City instead of Hanoi. Cafes, restaurants and trendy shops along the road sides are quite inviting.

The air quality is better here, thus, you can afford to have a drink at those western-style outdoor café. Many classy western restaurants with modern live band are found here too.

Things I like most in HCM City are those nice buildings left by the French.
Passing by their Opera, Central Post Office, Museum, Church…you would think a moment that you were in Europe (of course, kua jeong a bit la :P)

To blend into this very special west-meet-east-culture here, we didn’t go for local food for the 1st meal we had in HCM City. We had pizza and spaghetti instead, in a small, cozy western restaurant. The feel was not bad at all!

Business....yes, we met with only 1 customer in HCM City. Finally, the 1st customer in Vietnam we met that located in a proper office building, with air cond, and Engineers here, speak relataively good English too.

To me, HCM City is quite a good place, but, I hv too little time here. I will come back again to discover more!

Non-stop stream of motorbikes coming from all directions (none of the motorist wear helmet, NONE, let me reiterate). A bulb lighted up in our heads, and suddenly discovered a good business opportunity! We can sure make a lot of money if we can convince the government to impose the law to make wearing helmet compulsory. To our surprise, our local contact told us, government had in fact imposed the law twice in the past, but failed. If you were to catch the law breaker, then, everyone on the road was to be caught, the problem was just too big that nothing much could be done. We were not convinced by this statement, as no one wanted to pay summons…. He then added that, whenever a police booth was set up to catch the motorist without helmet, you could find another booth set up a few hundred meters before the police booth, renting the helmet to the motorist, and the helmet was to returned at the booth a few hundred meters away from the police booth…don’t you think Vietnamese are so brilliant, thinking of this business model?

Confusing traffic lights and directions (you wonder anyone ever notice the existence of the traffic light, as it is being ignored and not followed)
Never-ending tooting of horn (as someone says, the motorist/ driver just honk at anything that move, I wonder why they honk, as no one basically cares)

Tips for crossing the road – just assume you are blind, cross the road without fear, let the motorist avoid you, else you will hv to wait till the cow come home before you can cross a narrow street

Dusty, narrow, disorderly roads with digging and patching every where, not sure if it is called road upgrading works?

No many high-rise buildings at sight.

There are many lakes (small and big) in Hanoi city. The most well known one is at the heart of the city, called The Sword Lake (Hoan Kien). Many locals jog & walk along the lake side in the evening. But, again, you wonder how can they breath/ do exercise there as the air quality is so poor. However, there are some good restaurants (for the tourist) along the lake side, it is quite a nice place for tourist to have a meal/ drink there, overlooking the a small pagoda in the middle of the lake, with cool breeze blowing to your face. We had one of our dinner there, entertained by the 'traditional' live band.

Food – would be very exciting if you are adventurous enough to try all sorts of meat, including veal, snake, frog…..and man’s best friend, the dog. But, we never go to that extend, the new thing that we had tried in Hanoi were rabbit meat and goat’s brisket.

Weather - windy, cooling, especially at night, about 25 deg C, with breeze, you will feel very comfortable.

People - don't expect them to know English, but, to me, most Asians are warm and nice, I don't feel threaten at all walking alone on the street.

Back to the business (afterall, this is supposed to be a business trip)- well, I was quite shocked by some of the business set-up in Hanoi, the location of the office is in the middle of nowhere, dusty, no air condition, even some of the engineers/ business owners do not speak good English. Some of the products & the applications that they are developing are so niche (primitive too...wondering why they still need to develop such product) that we hv never encountered before outside Vietnam. Indeed, this trip is an eye-opening for me.

Firstly, to Yee Seng,

Hmmm. Frankly, every time when I listen to Danny Chan’s song, I will recall the lyric you wrote in my graduation autograph book, remember the song “Gam ching dou lou” that is the song I like the most since graduation as it reflects our friendship in the pass 26 years. Yup, you, pang ling, kow and I , can be consider as Green Mui bamboo horse lo. I guess P Gan also in 1B but we loss her for 11 years. Also Clive, just newly found. So, I think I am the only one qualified to have this title….haha….

Then, to Pang Ling,
for those who didn’t know, I bet no one knows, Pang Ling send a pair of leech socks and rain coat to me prior my trip to Maliau Basin. The socks are so useful and they made me think of him everyday *) it saved me from leeches. I came back with zero bite. After every trek, I always told my friend how caring he is to have sent them to me; frankly, I don't think I still have time to pick up from him prior departure.

To Wai Ling,
I have been staying in Singapore for 10 days in 2004, kind of convenience to live life there with everything, especially the transport is well organized, work wise, I am not too sure how kiasu and kiasi they are but it is always a good thing to meet new challenges. However, with my out going style, I think Malaysia suits me more. Btw, the best place to learn crossing road is at the busy streets in Ho Chi Minh. Enjoy it

Yo gang... am listening to this song, with tears, while typing this blog..... Yes, I have signed off my life to be relocated to Shanghai.

I will be relocating very soon. Much sooner than I thought. First, I will be in Hong Kong for one month. Then straight to Shanghai to "Ta Kong San".

Once I'm there, I will have to recruit my "Ting Lek" to help me conquer the China market, with AK47.

Seems like I can't join you guys in May lar. Can't have a chance to meet up with Clive too. But hey, at least can meet up with Pek Gan.

My family will be relocating with me as well. Wife scared that I may "Pao Yee Lai" so have to follow me closely.

Need to travel quite a lot too, to HK and Tokyo where my future is located.

Thks to this bunch of nice folks in my Singapore Office, I didn't hv to spend my xxth birthday alone! One of the guys in this photo is our Sales Director...can anyone recognise a 'Director's face' here?
Busy is the only word I can use to describe my working life here, anyway, hope once this transition period is over, everything would be eased off, and I can hv time to fly back to KL...miss my family, my 2 dogs, KL food especially my mum's cooking already :P
Well, at least, I hv something to look forward to, that's our gathering in early May, that's for sure! Someone pls suggest a good place with good food, good drinks, good people....everything must be good, deal!?

Well, well, well, today is my last day in my KL office, after being here for 6+ years. You could imagin the amount of rubbish I hv accumulated over the past 6 years! I'm having headache now, how to clear those stuff....

Hardly hv time to breathe after taking up the new assignment in SG HQ, though I've not officially reported to work there, e-mails hv been flowing in, and I'm flooded, burried with hundreds of unread mails!

Good bye my dear friends in KL, till we meet again....yes....6th May, dun worry, ex-monitor, I hv blocked this date...only if I manage to come back KL la!

Okay... okay.... I know..... is a bit uncool. Totally not cool at all to write about this - a 16 years old, good looking, well build, famous amongst girls kind of person like me to write about American Idol. Hey, what the heck, I had fun watching this show.

Have you people been watching this show on TV8 or StarWorld (channel 70)? Well, is a form of entertainment for both my wife and myself - hey, something that bond the two of us okay, a hobby that both of us enjoy togather and something that both of us do to keep our love life exciting.

Okay, if you are a follower, who is your idol this season? My choice - Taylor Hicks - He IS the man! From his audition (totally unconfident) and look at him now - Whooo... whoooo.... He kick ass man.

BTW - my wife somehow fancy Ace. Well - not surprising - whcih female doesn't like him... I am of no fan man. I think the final will end up with Taylor and Chris...

We hv just had our company AD&D @ Singapore on 14 Jan 06. The theme was "International Fantasia". There were many sporting ladies (but not guys, wonder why?) that really dressed up for the theme. These 3 egyptians were the most eye-catching features of the nite. Me?! I was of course promoting our Malaysia's pride for the Batik! Not very outstanding? Hmmm, never mind la, at least "Malaysia Boleh"!

Yo gangs, just got back from Singapore today (didn't realise that Huei Ling was in Singapore too yesterday). Took a bus this morning to Singapore and after meeting (2 hours), took a bus to JB and then back to KL again. Whole damn day spent in the bus!

Have you all tried the canggih buses to Singapore before? No, you must try man.

2 months ago, I took TranStar to Singapore from KL. Guess what they have?

Single seating - no double seating at all (depending on their availability of buses lar)
Great leg space
Huh.... noting special leh... hear more........ individual screen TV like aeroplane..
Huh..... still nothing special leh... hear this............ more than 30 movies in demand, all FOC. Watch movie till you drop.........
Still nothing special....... hear this....... all their chairs are equipped with massage function - massage chair all the way to Singapore man.... cool or not?
Of course, some other freebies like free meals, drinks etc lar
Cost RM80 only and book online.

But..... some thing not so perfect happened (see, nothing is perfect in this world). Air corn broke down and cannot open window. Thus, while I was enjoying all the way to Singapore with all the latest gudgets, I was sweating like hell in the damn bus for 5 hours.

So, today, I tried another one since kind of scared of the earlier one,
Aeroline

Aeroline comes with a double deckor, up stairs are seats while down stairs are movie launch cum chat chat room cum drinks cum meeting friends cum having sex if no one is there. Pretty cool. However, not as changgih as Transtar lar of course, only the basic function. But one thing that they have that is very very impressive - they have a power socket. Thus, while I was working on my notebook, I do not have to worry about the battery life (since mine can last for 3 hours only).

Any new recommendation? Let me know man since I travel quite frequently to Singapore too.

Happy 2006 Kuen Cheng Gladiators. I realised that we didn't really greet each other happy new year, but not too late now... Happy new year!

How did you celebrate your new year, share your stories with others man?

As you can see in the picture, I was hostipitalised in SJMC on the 29th Dec 2005. Yes, went for a surgery. Sinus infection apparently. My nose was blocked for 4 months because of the f**k up neighbouring government never care for their f**king people to burn the f**king jungle and caused all the f**king haze. Because of that haze in August, my flu went from bad to worse and I have a serious infection that have to go under the knife.

Neighbouring government (and you know who I am talking about), this finger is for you and your IGNORANCE to people around the world! I am a victim here you know! Stop burning you moron and bastards! I hope the fire burn your ass and your family ass too! The frustrating is, we have to experience this once a year kind of thing. And if Malaysian plantation companies are involve in this, and I hope not, this finger is for these companies too! Have some sensible concern for your own people!

You can pretty much guess how I celebrated 2006 new year, in the bed! It was a horrible experience to go into the surjery room. This experience will follow me for my entire life man. Lucky that I manage to make it for my daughter's birthday.

Yo gang, as promised, here is our first ever blog page.

Okay, true, we are over 30's now... but what the heck, let's ride on the latest trend and have something to talk about when we meet up at the age of 60.

Purpose of this blog page - let's create a diary for everyone to talk about anything, from your dog's sexually deprive stories, to probably Su Yin took a photo of Wai Kit naked at the aged of 8 and want to share it to the world (I will make sure that happen if anyone can find that), to Huei Ling selling her bird nest online, or Siaw Wei's story on handling kids in her tuition center or Clive story on those bastards....

Let's start with my story first, since we need the ball to start rolling...

My daughter is 3 years old now (on the 2nd of Jan), with all her Barbie dolls collection.....

Some current event...

I read about this massage house in Old Klang Road, Old Asia in No 41-2, Jalan Mega Mendung, Kompleks Bandar Mega Mendung. ABSOLUTELY STUNNING. The ambiance is stunning, the massuers were stunning (as in their skill okay) and the price - RM60 for 80 minutes - STUNNING. Trust me, well worth the trip - my wife and myself enjoyed the hack of it man.

Call this number - 7980 - 4888 for booking. Look for this guy - Jaffary (as how he spelt his name) - great guy. If he press on one spot of your body and you yell pain, he can tell exactly what is wrong with you. Yes, I got a guy to massage me, so is clean, okay. But is kind of weird to have a guy touching my naked buttock and lucky that I did not get an eraction.
